Most German roof constructions are statically suitable for the installation of a photovoltaic system. Despite this, we check whether your roof is suitable for this.

The amount of solar power generated depends on the location, the inclination and orientation and the solar modules used. On average, a photovoltaic system in Germany generates around 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per kWp, with the electricity yield in southern Germany often being slightly higher than in northern Germany

The direct current generated in the modules is converted into the usual mains alternating current via an inverter. The solar system is connected to the normal 230-volt network. The electricity generated in the photovoltaic system is used at all times, either in your own household or via the public power grid through households in the area.
 

PV systems can easily be installed on flat roofs. In this case, the modules are set up at an angle using a mounting system so that they are optimally south-facing and have a favorable inclination. At the same time, the inclined installation of the modules ensures the cleaning effect and adequate ventilation.

Yes, the income from the operation of a photovoltaic system must be taken into account for tax purposes and must be reported to the responsible tax office. From the point of view of the tax office, operators of a PV system who only feed part of the self-generated electricity into the public grid are tradespeople. From a tax point of view, a PV system that produces electricity for personal use and for feeding into the public grid is a commercially used system. The owner of a property with a PV system is therefore a trader before the tax office who must pay taxes (in Germany)

When the rooftop modules are hit by the sun's rays, they move. Since energy is always generated through movement, electricity is generated from sunlight. The conversion of light into electricity is also called the 'photo effect'. That is why solar systems are also called photovoltaic systems.

Photovoltaic systems draw energy from the sun and convert it directly into electricity. In contrast to conventional power plants such as a coal-fired power plant, they do not emit any climate-impacting CO2 and are therefore 100% climate-neutral.
